Cavaliers official announcement: Tristan Enaruna waived, Riley Minnicks re-signed.

The Cleveland Cavaliers announced Saturday that they have re-signed 26-year-old Riley Minnick. The two sides are expected to reach a two-way contract agreement, but specific details are not yet known.

On Thursday, local time, the Cavaliers waived Minnie, who was on a two-way contract, in order to acquire Nochard Omir. Their quick recall of Minnie was aimed at alleviating the shortage of wing players caused by a wave of injuries.

According to Cleveland.com reporter Chris Fedor, Jarrett Allen, Jalen Tyson, and Sam Merrill are currently sidelined with knee contusions, ankle sprains, and elbow injuries, respectively. The Cavaliers are therefore looking to add a healthy wing player, and Milner is considered the most suitable candidate at this stage.

As an undrafted free agent in 2024, Minks played for the San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers during his career. During that time, he only played 11 regular season games, averaging 3.2 points and 1.0 rebounds in 6.5 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 51.9% and a three-point percentage of 26.7%.

Compared to the NBA, Minks has performed better in the G League. To date, he has played 54 games for the Austin Spurs and Cleveland Braves, averaging 18.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in 31.2 minutes per game, with a field goal percentage of 52.3% and a three-point percentage of 42.1%.

While re-signing Milnic, the Cavaliers confirmed the waiver of 25-year-old forward Tristan Enaruna. He played 12 regular-season games for the Cavaliers in his career, but is expected to miss a significant portion of the season due to a recent ankle injury.
